DMCA and Copyright Policy
Maps and Driving Directions respects copyright. This page describes a practical notice process for reporting material that you believe infringes your rights.
The site owner should confirm the designated agent's production legal contact details before launch and should obtain a jurisdiction-specific legal review.
How to send a notice
Use the Contact Us form and select Copyright or DMCA notice, or email [email protected]. The form is only a local-preview interface and does not transmit a notice. Do not treat a local confirmation as receipt of a legal notice.
Information a notice should contain
Identify the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed, or provide a representative list if several works are involved. Give the exact URL or other precise location of the material on this site and explain why you believe the use is unauthorized. Include contact information that allows the site owner or designated agent to reach you.
A complete notice should also include a good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; an accuracy and authority statement made under penalty of perjury; and a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative. A claim should be specific enough to investigate.
Review and response
After a valid notice is received through the final production channel, the site owner may review the claim, contact the relevant contributor or service provider, restrict access, remove material, request more information, or determine that the reported use is lawful. A notice does not automatically establish infringement, and this page does not promise a particular outcome or timeline.
Counter-notices
If material was removed because of a copyright notice and you believe the removal was mistaken or that you have authorization, explain the material and its former location, provide your contact information, include the required good-faith and jurisdiction statements, and sign the response. Obtain legal advice when needed; the exact counter-notice process depends on the final service and applicable law.
Misrepresentation
Copyright notices and counter-notices should be accurate and submitted by the rights holder or an authorized representative. Knowingly making material misrepresentations can create legal consequences. If you are unsure whether a use is infringing, fair use, licensed, or otherwise permitted, seek advice from a qualified professional before submitting a notice.
